Hans Jørgen Wegner, (April 2, 1914 – January 26, 2007), was a successful Danish furniture designer who contributed to the international popularity of mid-century Danish design. His work belongs to a modernist school with emphasis on functionality. He is probably best known for his chairs.
The Ox chair was first introduced in 1960 and it represented its name to the fullest as the first thing you notice when you look at it is the distinctness of the bull’s head and even the horns.
The Ox Chair has a very striking design and is often the centre of attention in any room creating a huge visual impact combined with comfort and function.
The Chair is constructed of a polished stainless steel frame with moulded wood and foam base upholstered in fine Italian leather.
